Andre Sisenis - February 2007 Update PDF Print E-mail

At the very beginning of February I organized a trip to St. Petersburg with a group of youth from our church, we went there to take part in a conference that was about the organization of summer camps. We were able to get a lot of useful information there and also had wonderful time in the fellowship with other Christians and met many new people.

After our return to Liepaja I organized a seminar for three days that was led by my brother Leonid Regeta. Life of a young missionary is very full and interesting. In 2005 after graduating from the seminary in Chicago, he moved to St. Petersburg with his family, where he works as the director of Russian service of the church "Covenant". He also works as a PR at the Christian university of Petersburg.

The topic of our seminar was „Father-like relations with the Lord". Many Christians who know the Lord for many years still do not have the relations as with the Father with God.  We build our relationship with the Lord as with our fathers on the earth. If the experience with our real fathers is positive then it is easer to build the relations with the Lord, but if not, then the person thinks that the Lord is cruel or rude as their father on the earth, and for them it is hard to imagine God's as father's love and care for us.  Leonid helped the participants of the seminar to understand their childhood, to forgive, to start to build the relations with the Lord as with our father who loves us and Whom we can trust. Moreover, there is a huge responsibility on us as parents to educate our children and to build he relations with them the way that are correct as that will effect their relations with the Lord. The seminar really helped and encouraged many members of our church. The atmosphere of the seminar was very warm. The Lord was speaking to our hearts and made our hearts warm with His presence.

Those were the most impressive events of the previous month.  Also all the meetings and services are being carried out every week.
