August 2006 Report PDF Print E-mail

This month we had guests from Russia, and that was a band called  "Most X", (translated as “Bridge X”), which plans to visit also other countries but right now they give evangelic concerts in Latvia and Russia. The leader of the band is the pastor of their church. So we invited our friends to our Sunday service. They are writing the words and composing the songs themselves. There is an amazing harmony between the word and melody of their songs. We wanted to keep listening to their songs. They were giving testimonies during the brakes and were telling about the miracles in their lives. One of the brothers has written a song after the events in Baslan. One of the songs was to the terrorists’ hearts. They were singing those songs in their city, and afterwards they have also sent those to the relatives of those people who died in Beslan. Those songs really touched our hearts.

After the service the band took part in our brothers’ service, but in the evening they lead an evangelic youth service, to which we invited all the teenagers and youth from our summer camps. The hall was full. We also invited very well known politicians to our service; they had been to our services already for several times. They had an opportunity to hear the good news about the Lord. In the evening our friend were invited to our family service where they had an opportunity to share testimonies and to take part in our fellowship. We decided to keep serving our Lord. Almost every Sunday I was gathering the couples from our church at my summer house which I had bought for these purposes. Those really were blessed evenings when we could open our hearts and share our experiences and feelings with each other. I am glad that the couples from our church are very close to each other, so this means that they will be able to help each other when the there is a need. For example, there was a family that needed our help this month. As they were hiding many things from each other the family was going to collapse. When everything was clear, the whole church started praying for this family more than ever before.  The husband was an alcoholic but he was prohibited even a small dose of alcohol. When they got some problems the husband started to hide that he is drinking and even the wife did not know about it. Later on the problems became more complicated and he started to show all the anger on his wife and small son. When everything was known he couldn’t stop drinking.  After many prayers and long discussions with him, the husband decided to go and ask the doctors for help, and stop using alcohol. If he drinks a bit everything can repeat. Now this family is changed and shining. Praise the Lord! But we still need to pray for them. There is another young couple in our church that needs prayers. Please pray for them too. Thank you very much! May our Father bless you!
