Alexander's Bio

Alexander was born into a Christian family in Belarus; he is a third generation Baptist. His family was greatly persecuted for their faith during his childhood. He himself was forbidden to talk openly about his faith, and suffered lowered grades, negative evaluations in school, etc. due to his faith.

As a high school student Alexander was approached by the KGB on three separate occasions, and promised quick advancement, career opportunities, and other rewards if he would be willing to serve as a KGB spy within the Baptist church. After his third refusal, they assured him that because of his unwillingness to cooperate, his life would be ruined.

I am glad to greet you with these words: Mercy and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ!

We always are grateful to God for all of you, we always remember about what you do in your faith, and about your love to the work that you do in love.  I am going to have some rest and medical treatment, but before I decided to write to you. There have not been any special occasions. Last month we spent cleaning the church, and also have been repairing the church building a little bit. The second Sunday of May is Mothers’ day, and we were celebrating it.

Right now we are focusing on our summer camps. Very soon children will finish their studies at school and will have their summer holidays. They will have a lot of free time. That is why we already today have sent one person from our church Linards to undergo a course for working at camps. And then Linards with another person from our church will start teaching at the camp. We will have the camp together with the church in Liepaja.

Satrting from June 9 I am going to have some medical treatment and rest. I will spend there at least some 10 days. It is also possible that I will even spend there some 15 days. I have the same problem with my back that I had. That’ s it.

Pray for us. I need support and encouragement and just the strength of a man, and I am sure God has it.

With love,

Alexander.

On a side note:  Alexander's daughter Lily is getting married to the above mentioned 'Linards' August 12th!  Please pray as they celebrate this happy occasion and for the newlyweds.  KS
