We have decided to be really well prepared for the Easter. For this purpose we began to carry out rehearsals with the children, during which we were learning songs, showing dramas, and learning verses by heart. There were about ten children taking part in this program. We decided to carry out our programme at our church on April 16. Quite unexpectedly for me, Eric called me. He is the leader of the children’ service at the church called „The Voice of the Gospel”. Eric suggested carrying out a joint children's concert on April, 15 at their church. It was the answer to my offer that I offered some time ago. Even in the autumn of the last year I offered Eric the program of joint actions. Thanks God, we can realize it now. The work we do in the orphanage keeps going, and everything is very good. I spend some hours a week with the children regularly. I have closer got acquainted with some guys. These fellowships- acquaintances happen at the end of our meetings when guys get tired to work with the bicycles and want to leave. We sit down in such a place where nobody disturbs us, and frankly talk. Boys are very open to me, from the very beginning good relations developed. They themselves are trying to be closer to me, and I understand them, they don’t have parents, fathers. As I have already written above, we have started to make good relations with the church „The Voice of the Gospel” It began with the offer of Andery Sisenis to lead a joint youth and teenager camp in summer. We consulted, prayed and decided to make such a step. There are partner kind relations on the bases of these relations. First Andrey made some kind of conditions, but then we found a common tongue, and everything is all right. He agreed with us. We began to think together of the program for the camp; all kind of questions for the preparation of the problem were discussed. To support our relations I offered to carry out a Christian youth cafe together with the youth from his church. We plan to carry out it for our churches, Olesya already prepares the program, and also the teenagers are involved in the preparation of the program. I recently have received a letter from the city council that informs that the city budget will give a sum of money for buying food for the camp. This was wonderful news for us. We are really looking forward top summer with all its activities. The things happening to Vasily are big tests for the whole church. Vasily's life changes and those changes are rather fast. He was actively involved in almost all the services and activities of the church. We were pleased with that spiritual growth which was obvious. Vasily had a stable jib, which means that he had enough amount of money to take care of himself. Vasily rented one-room apartment. So he already started to live independently. But suddenly things changed. Vasily started to drink, and it really was very unexpectedly for us. He was drinking daily during two weeks. I came to him, called at a door, knocked, but he did not open the door. After a week, I came to his apartment with the owner of the apartment. An awful Picture appeared when we opened the door. I tried to speak with Vasily. It looked that he understood what he was doing and even asked for forgiveness in the prayer to God. But unfortunately, the next day everything repeated. Again I could not get to Vasily for few days. He was drinking again and again. The only way I got to his apartment was again with the help of the owner of the flat. Vasily's condition was simply awful, he was hardly alive. Then I made a decision to take him to the hospital, where the doctors could help him with medical aid and he will get out of the alcohol dependence. It was late at night; I was seriously concerned for the life Vasily. He stayed at the hospital for six days. The whole church prayed for him, and was continuously praying for his heart. As a result Vasily lives at our church again. Going through these tests and failing the examination, Vasily repented, and sincerely prayed. To the difficulties we were having with Vasily, the difficulties with believers were added. It concerns the husband of our sister Anna. We have accepted Sergey As a candidate for members of our church with a period of 2 months, during which he „will be checked”. If up to this, Sergey had been a wonderful attendant, coming to all the services, this time he showed totally the opposite. We were very disappointed when we saw how he offended one of our sisters and put an ultimatum to me. The essence was: I should take Sergey in the team that works with teenagers, and not to allow the sister that was offended by him to continue to serve there, otherwise his wife and him would not take part in the services and would not attend the church. I certainly did not agreed with these conditions, tried to speak with to him and with his wife, but unfortunately Sergey remains on his position. He is not a candidate for the member of the church and both he and his wife are not attending the church any more. But, his wife is still coming to help with the Sunday school. From the words of Anna, I know that she and Sergey visit another church. I talked to Anna, and I told her that Sergey can attend our services but he has to realise what he does, and to ask for forgiveness for our sister. Everything depends on him and the steps he will take to promote the stabilization of the situation, I told Anna, that we really want her and her husband to be with us in our church, but if she decides that she wants to be with her husband in another church we will also bless her. Such an uneasy situations should sometimes be experienced. I ask to pray for me to have wisdom for making the right decisions in all questions. The plan for April: preparation for Easter, preparation for camps, preparation and carrying out the youth cafe, carrying out our regular services. |
