Alexander's Bio

Alexander was born into a Christian family in Belarus; he is a third generation Baptist. His family was greatly persecuted for their faith during his childhood. He himself was forbidden to talk openly about his faith, and suffered lowered grades, negative evaluations in school, etc. due to his faith.

As a high school student Alexander was approached by the KGB on three separate occasions, and promised quick advancement, career opportunities, and other rewards if he would be willing to serve as a KGB spy within the Baptist church. After his third refusal, they assured him that because of his unwillingness to cooperate, his life would be ruined.

"I am the first and the last, and alive, and was dead and now I am alive forever" Amen.

I greet you all my dear brothers!

I greet you all and congratulate on the wonderful holiday of Easter.

You will receive this letter later than the dates of real Easter are marked on the calendar, but I still wan to congratulate you.

Christ is alive!

I think that these kinds of holidays cannot just be marked in the calendars. Because our Easter is the holy lamb - Jesus Christ who died for us. Praise the Lord for His wonderful plan of salvation.

We had two activities with our youth during the month of March.

We were in Vangazhi at the youth meeting there on March 18. There were the representatives of six different churches of Latvia. Each group carried out a definite part of the service that evening. In the end of the service we had an opportunity to have free fellowship and meet those, whom we did not know before and to spend time with those that we knew.

On March 25 we had the holiday of the Sunday school in our church. The activity club "Good news" from Stalgene and Dzirnieki were also invited to it, and also all those who wanted to come. Our Sunday school and the youth had prepared a wonderful program which included songs, Bible stories, dramas based on Bible topics, crafts, games, and other interesting activities.

And of course there were gifts for good results. We also had guests from Riga. There were 30 people. All of us had wonderful time of fellowship.

And the last occasion that we had was Easter. We really needed a lot of strength and preparation for carrying out the Easter services. There were app. 70 people present at our celebration. Our small hall was full of people. There were many non believers and I am very grateful to the Lord for that.

Pray for us, pray for the youth, and for the children who live in our village, and also for the work of the Sunday school.
